If you get an error similar to "SQL Server 2008R2 or SQL Server 2008 required, found v10.50" this means that the database installer is executing in a directory where files it needs do not exist. This can happen if these files are inadvertently deleted, or files are moved. Reinstalling from the Downloads tab here should fix this situation. Be sure to pick the right release to download for your version of SQL Server.
